2️⃣ Attestation by SDM (Sub-Divisional Magistrate)
Get the affidavit attested by the SDM in India with jurisdiction over your residential address. This is often referred to as the Single stats certificate stampted by SDM.

3️⃣ Attestation by Home Department
The State Home Department verifies and attests the SDM-issued certificate.

4️⃣ MEA Apostille / Attestation
Finally, the document is submitted to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in India for apostille (for Hague Convention countries) or attestation (for others).
