Access the Income Tax Portal
➡ Visit the Income Tax e-Filing website.
➡ Log in or register if you’re a new user. -
Register as a Legal Heir
➡ Go to My Account > Select Add/Register as Representative.
➡ Choose Deceased’s Estate from the dropdown menu. -
Provide Details of the Deceased
➡ Submit:- PAN of the deceased.
- Name of the estate.
- Date of incorporation of the deceased.

Prepare and Upload Documents
➡ ZIP file requirements:- Legal heir certificate or affidavit (notarized).
- Deceased’s PAN card.
- Death certificate.
- Legal heir’s PAN card.

Submit the Request
➡ Upload the ZIP file.
➡ Click Submit to send for approval.
