What are the forms for pan card application basis for different categories of applicants?

Forms for PAN Card Application Based on Applicant Category

Applying for a PAN card in India requires specific forms based on the applicant's category:

Form 49A

Who Should Use This Form:

  • Indian citizens, including NRIs holding Indian citizenship.

Purpose:

  • This form is used for India PAN card application NRI and for individuals, Hindu Undivided Families (HUFs), companies, firms, and other entities registered in India.

Form 49AA

Who Should Use This Form:

  • Foreign citizens, including NRIs with foreign citizenship, and other foreign entities.

Purpose:

  • This form is designed for PAN card application for non-resident Indian, individuals, and entities not residing in India but needing a PAN card for NRI without Aadhaar card to conduct transactions in India.
